Jacqueline and Troy are getting married on 9/10/11 so we made the engagement photographs exactly one year in advance, and it was a gorgeous day at Beavertail State Park. The thing I enjoy about photographing at Beavertail is the variety of seaside looks you can get from one locale: rocks, ocean, lighthouse, there’s even some manicured lawn if you want it. We also included a quick drive through Jamestown to “use” the Newport Bridge and step into the Bay.

You couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque day (and perfect weather) than Mari and Tom had at the end of July up in Maine. The bed & breakfast Mari got ready at was beautiful, the church was beautiful, the lake was beautiful, the tent was beautiful—everyone was beautiful. And fun, loads and loads of fun. I was really glad to be a part of their day this way. Thank you Mari & Tom!
A gorgeous July day and a couple that couldn’t have been easier to work with made for so many great photos. I walked away from Leanne and Brian’s wedding overjoyed because that’s what they both exuded. Of course all brides are happy, but Leanne was just so joyful. Brian certainly had his personality shining through from his Superman cufflinks and the outstanding John Williams entrance theme. Plus, the reception turned into an outstanding dance party. It’s hard to capture the amazing dancing in a few images here, but if you go through the hundreds of proofs, wow the dancing that occurred at Oceancliff that day. Thank you Leanne and Brian!
Leticia and Ryan picked the Aquidneck Lobster Co. on the end of Bowens Wharf in Newport as the location for their engagement photos. I loved the choice and we had a great time in between the lobster tanks and on the fishing boat. Thank you Leticia and Ryan. I hope you have a wonderful wedding.
Holiday shoppers at Providence Place were surprised on the Saturday after Thanksgiving as I led Alessandra, Rocco and their wedding party around the mall for some of their formals. The weather had turned a little too windy for any pictures outside so, in planning for photos the week before, I had suggested crossing from the Westin into the mall for some photographs. We had a blast as we rode the escalators, sat on the stools at Johnny Rockets and stopped into Steve Madden.
Alessandra and Rocco were all about downtown Providence for their engagement photos back in April so the hotel, footbridge and mall was a nice way to keep it downtown while staying inside. Regardless of where we were, the whole day was fun, as you can tell from one of several photos we made in the Westin’s telephone booths. Thanks to Mike Picard Videography for chasing us around as I came up with photo ideas, Golden Gate Studios for the gorgeous flowers and thank you very much to Alessandra & Rocco.
Vanessa and Andrew had a wedding day marked by two wonderful connections to Andrew’s parents’ wedding day. First, they were married by the same priest that married Andrew’s parents. Then, as fate would have it, due to the rain, we ended up taking photographs indoors in the same room Andrew’s parents had photos taken on their wedding day. We took a few outside as well, but look at that wedding party inside. Is that not just a fun group or what? Congratulations again Vanessa and Andrew!
The 2009 wedding season has been the year everyone talks about the rain. Overall, my couples have been lucky to dodge the precipitation. Tina & Mat weren’t so lucky, but talk about complete disregard of the weather, this wedding was FUN (as evidenced by the below photos from the bathtub and with the groomsmen hard at work at the kids’s table). Tina was a blast of energy and light and Mat kept right up with her. We probably could have lost power and had a freak blizzard and their day still would have been a party. Thank you both for a great time.
Weddings in New England in 2009 have been dodging rain all season. So far I’ve been pretty lucky and even on this somewhat gray September day Melissa, Jason and I were able to step outside their church for a few photos. Getting married at such a beautiful church also helped! All my wonderful couples prove that nothing dampens a wedding day. Thank you Melissa and Jason.
